Had the great honor and privilege of interviewing GRAMMY Award-nominated singer-songwriter Tove Lo on the Red Carpet earlier tonight during 103.5 KISS FM’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2016 at Allstate Arena. She received her ‘Best Song Written for Visual Media’ GRAMMY Award-nomination during the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2016 for co-writing the song entitled, “Love Me Like You Do“, recorded by English singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding for the soundtrack to the film “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2015).
William Kelly Milionis: Congratulations on your short career?
Tove Lo: [laughing] Thank you!
Kelly: So great it is…your meteoric rise!
Tove Lo: [more laughing]
Kelly: You’ve worked with Flume…on the track entitled, “Say It“!
Tove Lo: Yes!
Kelly: How did that come about?
Tove Lo: It was amazing! I have been such a fan of him for a long time and he basically reached out to me and asked. “Hey, I heard your song.” He heard it in some bar somewhere and was like, “who is this singing” and then tracked me down and just asked “do you wanna make some music” and I just kind of dropped everything that I was doing and ran to his studio in LA and we wrote the song [giggles].
Flume – “Say It” featuring Tove Lo
Kelly: Are you going to perform with Flume at React Presents Reaction New Year’s Eve December 30th at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont?
Tove Lo: Oh, I will not unfortunately be performing with Flume there.
Kelly: You’ve got a killer voice…
Tove Lo: Thank you [giggles]
Kelly: You have enjoyed great success in EDM, are you looking to do more in the genre?
Tove Lo: Um, I’ve done a couple. I’m not looking to do any collaborations right now, but it always kind of keeps happening though because it’s fun to work with people. So yeah, there will be more coming.
Kelly: Thank you and much continued success!
Tove Lo: Thank YOU!
