“I’m a little touched by the fact that the fans stayed, I don’t know if I would do that for anybody” - Brandon Flowers
It was a rainy day in Wrigleyville which caused for the Cubs to cancel their game but, Brandon Flowers whom was scheduled to perform outside before the game decided his show must go on. Flowers and crew brought his die hard fans inside Wrigley Field to the Audi Club and treated everyone to an intimate acoustic performance & M&G.
Flowers wearing a tuxedo well suited for a fun night in Vegas, he definitely succeed in bringing a taste of Vegas to Chicago. Accompanied by two of his band mates, they played a mix of old and new songs. Throughout the set, Flowers and his bandmates made silly jokes such as “It’d be so much cooler if I played guitar, I’d have a shield you know… At least, my microphone stand is usually my barrier.” -Flowers. Watching the show in such an intimate setting with around 50 fans was really a chilling experience where everyone in the room was singing along to each and every song.

When You Were Young
After the performance, I got the opportunity to sit one on one with Brandon Flowers discussing everything Chicago and Las Vegas. Discussing the topic of no longer being able to sing take me out to the ball game Brandon mentioned “When I was growing up Harry Carey was such an icon and when they asked me to do that I was so excited” We also discussed where Brandon likes to hang out in Chicago - “I love Lou Malnati’s and I’m planning on going there shortly.”
When asked about deciding on opening with Viva Las Vegas - “My whole showing here was all about Vegas season so we thought it’d be fitting to play 1964’s Viva Las Vegas"
The #VegasSeason Ice Cream Truck provided delicious samplings of alcohol infused ice cream and appetizers by Chef Shawn McClain. They also provided cool swag bags for people who stopped by the activation.
The swag bags included:
A light up SLS Fan.
Treasure Island Towel
Treasure Island branded bag
& my personal favorite (one thing I promised myself I would never buy): a selfie stick
All in all, this was a special treat for all who stayed out and fought the rain. Thank you Brandon Flowers for a flashback to my high school days and an amazing experience all around.
